MANUAL OF INTRUCTIONS :
The urban configuration of Ein Hud, and by extension, of any other Palestinian Settlement, cannot but be approached within the scope of the Strategic and Tactical domain. Far from developing a design for a specific site, it is therefore more operative to produce a Manual of Instructions. The operability of such a Manual lies on the collection of a set of pragmatic prescriptions [legal, infrastructure, sustainable, constructive and morphological] to be developed and deployed by the various corrective agents.

1. Morphological System:
Anti-D9 Geometry constructing an artificial topos directed towards imposing physical barriers to Israeli D9 Bulldozers. 1a) Terracing System: 5mt height terraces and Gabion retaining wall. 2a) Bottle-Neck System:Distribution of a series of >3mt< bottle-neck valves to impede bulldozer circulation without demolishing more than one private property lot on its path.
2. Ownership/Growth Systems:
1a) Cross Section ownership lines amongst different owners and Private/Public.
2b) Maximum land ownership Density: Inward Expansion and condensed growth forming protective rings to maximize difficult access to a single plot. 2c) Dense Core: Outward Expansion through offset layers to maximize continuity of urban fabric and impede sprawl.
3. Sustainable Systems:
3a) Geothermic System: 1mt blow grade Water distribution. 3b) Water Cisterns: 15mt below grade Water accumulation tanks. 3c) Solar Panels: to be implemented on existing and new housing for low cost electricity production. 3d) Recyclable waste: organic and inorganic waste (composite and gabion blocks) 3e) Composite generator: Fertilizer and Methane gas.
4. Constructive Systems:
4a) Gabion retaining walls and Housing construction: allows for a recycling strategy of demolished material and self-construction methods. 4b) Pre-fabricated Concrete System for single block Housing.
