A confrontation is an action of denial that occurs when a community encounters with another community of a different sense of value. And its social and economic situation leaves only one option to fight and plunder. To avoid the confrontation there needs to be a removal of self-enclosed framework and a security of life. In the proposal it is realized by agriculture. The planned site has a difficulty for agriculture because the land is so impoverished. The first act is reclamation of ground in a certain area that is the surrounding area of scattering villages. The land induces people in the villages, and provides an opportunity to look back where and what their villages are. The domain does not consist of a manmade concrete building, such as the great wall in China or the wall in Berlin, but exist in natural scenery. It means that the boundary of the domain is not a drawn hard line, but an undefined area: nature is the area including farmlands. The ground of the domain is reclaimed, and partly covered by sowing seeds and plantation of seedlings. When they grow up, their fructifications bring over insects, birds and other lives. These living things bring over other lives, and propagate them. Their wastes and remains enrich the farmland. This process becomes a circulation, and there is no longer a wilderness ground in the domain. And most importantly the farmland acquires a sustainable system. The farmland on the domain attracts people within. As a result, in the abounded farmland there are people who have been in different villages. The domain is filled by individual farmers. Each of them, who have never had an opportunity to meet or talk one another in their village life, starts to communicate through their work, agriculture. The sequence of this small community on the farmland releases the people from the self-enclosed village life, and creates one large community in the domain. The ring shaped domain also creates an opportunity to communicate towards the outside area. there is a chance to feel a different culture, and to communicate in peace situation.
There is an economic matters as well as the communication that we have said. There need to be a place to sell the farm product. The agriculture center, where farm product is traded at the sale and the market, is prepared at the center of the circulating agriculture area. In the harvest season the center activates the economy. The center becomes a base of their both economy and community as the economy grows, and becomes a landmark that brings over the people from the surrounding towns and countries to the agriculture area.
There are three basic programs upon the agriculture center. The first is the market to trade the farm product. The second is the place to communicate for gathered people. The third is the observatory space that becomes a symbol of the master plan for peace. The center is composed that the market is placed at the center, and other facilities are placed around it, and the whole function is covered by a glass membrane. The building, as a landmark, does not need to be constructed in strong form, but need to spread the concept of the master plan, peace. The delicate material, glass, covers the whole agriculture center. It is easy to break without well-balanced care, such as peace. The center represents the realization of an achievable goal, peace, on carefully balanced situation. Also the care of the glass membrane through the administration might affect the sense of value to the people in the domain. We hope the agriculture center becomes a facility that has a possibility to deliver the message of the master plan for peace to the surrounding countries and to the world.
