++THE PROJECT

The urbanistic plan is build from direction of link, of sewing again, throught a general urbanistic odologic, not geometrical design.
The project goal is the rebuilding of the urban quality dimension, permitting the proximity of different functions.
The project welcome the site's orography characterise, placing the new building and roads according with the ground levels.

The new main road bringing to the village from Road no.4 is located at about +250mt a.s.l; in this way, the road can have a slight sloap, for an easy access to the village for public services (bus,ambulance, trucks etc.)

The connecting way to Ein Hod is confirmed and rebuilt, with the intention of became the two settlement connected and complementary.

Pedestrian ways have autonomous direction and steep-slope oriented, realizing a relationship net for the different functions and area of the village.

On the top of the hill there are the most important buildings (Agora) - the city hall, medical center, art center and sporting center-; there is also a place for the open air event and exhibition. Near the existing minaret there is a new square.

The educational center is situated in the same actual location, in the middle of the village, and connected with the different area of settlement througt walking way, square and gardens. School and kindergarden are imagined like a second home.

The project need to create a new urban benevolent reality for the children, as rappresentatives of all humanity.

The urban design is integrated with the green, as a complementary reality.

Existing buildings are connected in a larger design, offering them an urban dimension.

The touristic vocation of Ein Hud seem to result from the beautiful position, near park Hacarmel; the touristic area in designed as a terrace overlooking the sea, and like a holidayfarm. There is also a building for touristic activiities (tourist information center ect.).

Commercial activities are proposed near the main road; the project propose the creation of a new commercial center, near the new village center.

The urban boundary is located at about +200 mt a.s.l. and materialised with trees; this boundary is not like a enclosure, but a way to make village recognizable, like the ancient walls. On the east direction, the boundary is only ideal; in this area there are specialistic coltivation (olive).

The new Art Center

The building is proposed as the heart of the new urban reality. It is composed from a simple cylindrical volume, with a large skylight and high windows looking the sea. Near the circulare entrance there are also an office, toilettes and a small meeting room.

The space is designed for differt function and activities, like exhibitions, concert, meeting etc.

In considaration of the local building practice and economics, the structure of the building is proposed with reinforced concrete and external sheathing with local stone.

Technical Data

The master plan include about 190 dunam, inclusive of agricultural areas and infrastructure (depurator). Near the village's entrance are located a parking and the bus stop.

Sewers are located at about +195mt a.s.l. so to collect liquids to the depurator - situated nord of the village - only for gravity.

According with the indication of the organisers, drawing are designed using 'aerial view village mrch.jpg' and the 'Topography.jpg' files. The dimension of the building - existing and new - is indicative. Moreover, The A0 panel display the summary of the project or idea with the most essential elements; so, not all the scale indicated are in the panel.
